Welcome to The Community Cafe - Health & Wellness.
A social space and online store for people living with dementia.
The Community Cafe was developed to offer an opportunity for social connection and information for people living with dementia in the Canberra region.
We aim to provide an environment for you to engage in social and peer support, connect with others, obtain information and enjoy mental stimulation, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Social isolation after diagnosis can be common for people with dementia, and with your help, we aim to create a community that is supportive, welcoming and enjoyable.
If you are living with dementia and would like to attend these cafe's, we invite you to fill out the social profile (sign-up tab) so we can get to know you a little better.
Help us create a stigma-free community, where the whole person and their abilities are recognised and celebrated.

Our Services
The Community Cafe will meet monthly and provide a safe and friendly environment for those people diagnosed with dementia and their families. This is a chance to meet others, enjoy social activities and have a great day out.
The sessions will include things like live music, reminiscence therapy, quizzes, inspirational and/or informational talks, pet therapy, intergenerational sessions and much more. Bookings are preferred for the sessions and can be done through the upcoming events tab. Additional events will also be added from time to time. Please note we are not a respite service, so each person attending will need to be with a family member whilst attending the cafe. The cafes are best suited for those living in the community.
We also have a range of products available online that may assist people with dementia and other conditions to live well. Our products are carefully chosen using the latest evidence-based research.
We are a self-funded enterprise, with the sale of our products assisting us to deliver the cafe sessions in our local community.
